In an Infinity Room, May 2022

Infinity Room, May 2022

Inside the dazzled darkness of a Kusama infinity room recently, I was transfixed by individual apertures, their depth to the outside, forcing where to see and framing a tree. I thought of pinhole cameras made from oatmeal boxes and the potential for infinite depth of field in that tiny opening and in our eye. Of the camera obscura, room sized like this. Of the mechanical iris and the physics of light refracted, so often a forced choice of focus. How a lens creates and changes a view.

This space and moment feel appropriate as I re-launch this website of my photographs. Enjoy.
