James Turrell’s The Color Inside, 2023  

Another aperture, this oculus. It is as simple as a hole and as infinitely complex as the shapes and colors of day, night and weather that it projects inside. It brings a moment of pause, the wonder of physics and the parallels, again, to a camera and camera obscura. How the artist’s choices of size, shape and angle turn something ordinary into something magical. I look up, entranced by new perspective, to the view outside.
